PREPARED? - 12/14/2006

By: Chip Chuprinko

With the potential of damaging winds arriving later today, are you prepared with emergency supplies? Are you ready to be called out if needed? Do you have an emergency plan mapped out with your family? Is your 72 hour kit ready to go? Are your batteries charged?

The windy weather hyped by the forecasters may not materialize or it may be worse than predicted. We can't be sure in our geographic area. But as ARES/RACES members we should be prepared, as much as possible, for emergency conditions.

We hope that the storm doesn't cause any damage - check your personal weather stations and watch the weather channels on TV for the lastest forecasts.

The NOAA radio channels also contain complete, if not boring, weather information and predictions. Check the NOAA web site for additional maps, warnings and alerts.
