WELCOME TO GENERAL CLASS - 04/05/2007

We want to welcome all those who upgraded to General Class or Higher in the recent months. We hope you find the extra operating privileges rewarding.

While operating on the HF bands you will have an opportunity to meet hams from many distant locations. There are a number of nets on the various bands that you can check-in to and of course there are the many contests on the HF bands that provide an operating mode different that what you are used to on 2 meters.

There is the challenge of obtaining HF equipment and a suitable antenna system. Some research will assist you in making a good choice for your individual situation. You might ask other hams for their opinions of the various antennas and radio equipment available. Some hams have extra radios that are collecting dust that they may be willing to sell or lend to you for a time. Ask around.
