Today the National Weather Service?s Portland office provide a weather briefing for local response organizations and provided important information specifically for SW Washington. Subsequently, a Winter Storm Warning has been issued which declares the hazard as imminent.
The following information is expected for Clark and Cowlitz Counties. The National Weather Service has a very high degree of confidence this storm will hit farther north than last weekend?s storm. Please do not disregard this weather information because we were affected less than expected last weekend.
WINTER STORM WARNING has been issued at 3:12 p.m. which means, ?The hazard is occurring or imminent and poses a threat to life or property.?
Weather:
Snow with 2-4 inches of accumulation beginning at 6 a.m. Wednesday through the afternoon.
Freezing rain or a rain/snow mix will occur on Wednesday afternoon.
Then snow will continue Wednesday evening through Thursday.
Temperatures:
Wednesday - Low 20, High in mid 30?s
Thursday through Saturday - Low 20?s, High less than 29
The CRESA Emergency Management Duty Officer can be reached 24/7/365 by calling the Clark Regional EOC hotline (360) 992-9229, then select option 8, then 0 (zero) to be forwarded to the CRESA Duty Officer on call. If your request is urgent, call CRESA 9-1-1 Dispatch at (360) 696-4461 and request the Duty Officer to be paged.
