Introduction to DMR
Presented by:  Dave/W7NCX
Overview:  More and more Clark County ARES/RACES members are acquiring radios capabile of using the international DMR open digital voice standard.  Depending on one’s location, there are approximately 10 repeaters in the local area which are accessible using a handheld radio, and each repeater can support two independent QSOs at the same time.  PNWDigital.net (http://pnwdigital.net) supports over 45 linked repeaters in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia.  In many cases in western Washington, repeater to repeater connectivity utilizes the HamWAN (http://hamwan.org) 5.9 GHz amateur radio digital data network.
