DMR Demystified
Presented by:  Loren/KB7APU
Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) is an open digital voice radio standard developed by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) in 2005.  As defined and implemented, the standard consists of a two slot Time-Division Multiple Access (TDMA) protocol.  This spectrum efficiency is equivalent to the APCO P25 Phase 2 standard.
In September 2018, a DMR repeater was installed on Yacolt Mountain in Clark County, and it is configured with two local talk groups (with no Internet linking).  Other local DMR repeaters are available, which include regional and national public service talk groups.
Our speaker will explain the equipment one needs to use the DMR network, and demystify things like code plugs, time slots, talk groups, and color codes.
