HamWAN Overview
Presented by:  Scott/N7DOD
In 2013, a multi-megabit, IP-based, 5.9 GHz amateur radio digital data network was established in Northwest Washington.  Similar data networks have been built in Western Florida, Southwest Tennessee, Central Michigan, South Central BC, and Germany.
Utilization of HamWAN in times of emergency/disaster could include email, photos and live video (situational awareness and reports), exchanging documents (via drag and drop to shared folders), video conferencing, voice-over-IP (VoIP) phone calls, database connectivity (for our served agencies), DMR radio linking, and many other services typically available on the Internet today.
In June 2018, a HamWAN (http://hamwan.org) link site was established on Larch Mountain in Clark County.  Our speaker will explain the equipment one needs to connect to this data network.
