Cyber Response Training

Presented by:

Michael / AE7GQ

Areas of Training:

• Threats To Our On-Line Environment
• Protecting Our Computers
• If Your Computer Is Compromised
• Cyber Response Overview

We all need to think about cyber security.  For example:

It is 2 AM and you are sound asleep, but your computer is still turned on and connected to the Internet.  Who else might be using it remotely?

It is 9 AM and you are browsing the Internet looking at new models of radios.  Suddenly, a pop-up message informs you that your computer is infected with malware.  Do you click on the “cancel” button?

It is 1 PM and you see a posting on a radio forum alerting you of a rapidly spreading virus and telling you to search for and delete a particular file on your computer which was created by the virus.  Do you?

It is 4 PM and a trusted friend sends you an email you weren't expecting with an attachment for you to look at.  Should you open it?

It is 7 PM and you answer a knock at the door.  The police seize your computer and arrest you for having child pornography on your computer.  How will you be able prove to the court that you didn't place those files there?

It is 10 PM and you just got back from the jail after posting bail.  Your new software defined HF radio turns itself on and starts a digital QSO with a UU prefix station.  You are not able to read the Cyrillic characters on the display.  Should you be worried?

If you want/need the answers to any of these questions, or have other questions about preventing potential problems while using any devices connected the Internet, then you will want to attend this training.
